Last week Joe, Wendy and I were chatting about rules.
One of us follows the rules as long as they suit us, otherwise we will explain why we are breaking the rule(s).
One of us thinks rules are made to be broken.
One of us prefers to follow the rules, but will question a rule if we find it stupid or unnecessary.
What about you?

I have varying respect for rules.
Rules that were made up yesterday or maybe even a couple months ago are still questionable and have not been well established.
Rules that were made up 10 years ago and are still in place receive quite a bit more respect from me. They have stood the test of time. I need to fully understand the reason behind them before I go fiddling with them.
Rules that were made up hundreds or thousands of years ago are beyond my ability to question. Who am I to question the wisdom of centuries.

Thanks Brian – that gives me more insight into rules. Very astute revelation.
